Ireland's second National Declutter Day takes place on Saturday 28thof September 2013. As well as supporting your favourite charity and helping the environment, this unique event also promotes the many personal benefits of decluttering.

National Declutter Day promotes the following three aspects:

  • Declutter to feel good
  • Donate to charity
  • Reuse and recycle

Modern research shows that decluttering makes people feel happy. As a Declutter Therapist, Breda teaches and motivates people to break free from the overwhelm of clutter so they can enjoy simpler, more stress-free lives. National Declutter Day encourages us to take stock so we can avail of the many personal benefits including a sense of freedom, a more defined sense of individual style, regained control and more time, money, space and energy.

Donating to charity is a feel-good exercise and is a great way to extend the life of your unloved, good-condition items. This year, National Declutter Day is delighted to partner up with 29 local and national causes, including the 27 members of the Irish Charity Shops Association (ICSA) who operate over 360 charity shops around the country. Check with your charity in advance to see what's being accepted and drop items directly to your local charity shop.
