A new charity shops in aid of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI) has recently opened in Clane. The shop offers quality second hand clothes, books and other items to raise funds for the support and services provided by the charity to almost 52,000 people with sight loss in the country.

The Clane shop is located on Main Street, Clane, Kildare. NCBI must raise €4 out of every €10 it spends on services. Its 83 charity shops around the country make a vital contribution to its fundraising efforts.

NCBI’s services include emotional support and counselling, low vision solutions like magnifiers, assistive technology advice and training, rehabilitation training (including independent living skills and using a long cane), a large print, audio and Braille library. The organisation also has an online shop with lots of practical solutions.

The new NCBI charity shops are urgently seeking donations of your unwanted clothing and other items. Every bag is worth a great amount to the organisation.both shops are currently looking for volunteers to join their teams. The shops needs volunteers for 3-4 hours a week and to help with fundraising events.
