Age Action is recruiting a Part-time Showroom Supervisor

Age Action is Ireland’s leading advocacy organisation for older people. Age Action works to ensure that older people’s voices are heard at the highest level of Government and that the lived experience of older people informs policy responses to their needs.

As the Showroom Supervisor you will
have accountability for growing sales and profitability within the showroom as well as being a service manager for the showroom during opening hours dealing directly with all customer queries and actively selling from the showroom floor. The Showroom Supervisor will receive training in all aspects of the operation of Age Action’s retail Showroom and gain in-depth experience in all aspects of our work.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in the retail sector is desirable
  • Knowledge of retail management best practices desirable
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  •  Excellent organising and leadership skills
  • Full clean driving license desirable but not essential
  • Commercial awareness
  • Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles

Conditions of Service
This is a fixed term (12 months) Part – time contract which may be extended. The person appointed must be flexible regarding working hours to include weekends. The post is based in Cherry Orchard Dublin 10.

Age Action is recruiting a Retail Store Manager in Terenure Dublin 6W

The Retail Store Manager will be responsible to the Head of Retail for the
ongoing success of the store in Terenure. 

The main focus will be to maximise
sales, increase profits and promote customer service. The retail store manager will be responsible for creating a shopping experience that will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. The manager will also be responsible for inspiring the team, leading and developing them to achieve outstanding results. 

Required Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role you will need to have a minimum of 3 years retail management experience in a fast moving retail environment. 

Proven experience as retail manager or in other managerial position

  • Knowledge of retail management best practices
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent organising and leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles

Conditions of Service

This is a permanent post subject to probation period of six months.  The person appointed must be flexible regarding working hours to include weekends. The post is based in Terenure, Dublin 6W.

Our shops stock great bargains and lovely gifts for all the family, including clothes, shoes, books, bric-a-brac, giftware, collectables and household items at prices to suit everyone's pocket. We also need donations of clothes, shoes, books, bric-a-brac, household goods and gifts, as well as furniture in our some of our shops (but unfortunately we cannot accept electrical goods).

Sales Assistant
Locations:
Dalkey and Kilbarrack.
Duties: 
To assist in the day to day running of the shop including stocking shelves, sorting stock, pricing stock, stock rotation and cash register duties, ensuring window displays are attractive and any other reasonable duties requested by the shop management.

Fashion Stock Assistant
Location: 
Ballycoolin Dublin 15 - The warehouse is not on a bus route, and transport would be needed to get to this location.
Duties:
To assist in the day to day running of the warehouse including, unloading and loading stock, label removal, stock taking duties, pricing and tagging, preparation of merchandise for delivery, participation in the Barnardos pop-up shops and any other reasonable duties requested by the shop management. Must have a keen interest in fashion.

All posts are 19.5 hours per week, and are subject to DSP eligibility requirements.

To be eligible for CE you must be in receipt of a payment from the DSP for a minimum of twelve months.

NCBI Retail: The National Council for the Blind Ireland often has vacancies for Retail Sales Assistants in our charity shops.

The role involves preparing and receiving stock, tagging and pricing of second hand goods and clothing, cash register sales, merchandising and general customer service.

Retail sales support people with sight loss through NCBI.

 

Hours of Work: 19.5 hrs per week
