DUBLIN Simon Community has an exciting opportunity for Social Enterprise Supervisor
You will be responsible for the operational and people management of a Social Enterprise which includes two retail stores and a sorting and distribution centre.
We are looking for an individual with a recognised, relevant third level qualification and the candidate must have of knowledge of Social Enterprise model with a clear understanding of the distinction between mainstream retail and the charity sector.
The candidate must also have recent experience of supervisor/management in a retail environment, with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Dublin Simon Community works to prevent and address homelessness and provides services at all stages of homelessness to enable people to move to a place they can call home.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a new NCBI Furniture store in SOUTH DUBLIN
for an Experienced Furniture Shop Manager
In this varied and exciting role you will be instrumental to making sure this prominent shop achieves sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive sales, present both shop interior & shop window, as well as recruit, train, motivate and manage a social activation employee & volunteer team, and retail and customer service skills.
An ability to work under pressure and prioritise a changing workload are essential attributes for the role. Prior experience in a busy retail environment, stock pricing & stock acquisition, is vital for this role.
The person will have a strong Furniture selling background and an ability to sell all aspects of NCBI Home offering including bric a brac.

Gorta-Self Help Africa is a progressive leader in the field of international development. Working across nine countries, we seek to tackle poverty and improve the lives of local communities. The organisation works both with its own African staff, and through local partners to undertake a range of integrated development programmes amongst rural communities.
This is a full time, permanent position. The job purpose is to manage and maintain the Gorta Self Help Africa shop on North Main St, Cork to the highest standard and to drive and maximise sales in the shop.
This is a varied role requiring good organisation and multi-tasking skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and experience.
Knowledge and Experience required
- Experience of working with members of the public
- Experience of the charity sector is desirable.
- Attention to detail
- Evidence of strong commitment to excellent customer service
- Must have completed secondary level education.
- Must have store management experience 2-3 years minimum
- Evidence of motivational and leadership skills
- Ambitious with a proven ability to take initiative and implement change.
- A proven track record in driving sales

To assist in the day to day running of the warehouse including, unloading and loading stock, label removal, stock taking duties, pricing and tagging, preparation of merchandise for delivery, participation in the Barnardos pop-up shops and any other reasonable duties requested by the shop management. Must have a keen interest in fashion.
